“I purchased the Beethoven 5th Piano Concerto arrangement, and we used the second movement at a recent memorial service. I was immensely pleased with the result: the tonal mix was very natural and appropriate, every important aspect of the orchestral parts was represented by the quartet, and I very quickly felt that I was in fact listening to Beethoven's original (rather than some arrangement). I can't speak for movements 1 and 3, but the sublime 2nd movement (easily the acme of this work) moved me to tears even in this setting. Making such a world-class work accessible to a small ensemble is a brilliant achievement.”
